Christmas is just around the corner! Every year, my family opens presents already under the tree on Christmas Eve. Then, Christmas morning, we get to see what is in our stockings and get "Santa" presents. 
We planned on going to Christmas with my dad's side of the family tomorrow and going to my mom's side Saturday. Unfortunately, that may not happen. We are having the second big storm of the season. Last night it rained and sleeted and we now have a big coating of ice on everything. Today and tomorrow we have a chance of getting up to two feet of snow. Mother Nature seems to be punishing the state of Iowa most of all. Why? 
If things are looking good by Sunday we may be able to go to Christmas with my mom's side but we have no idea if travel will be possible then. I'm just glad we still have the internet and our TV service as they're both by satellite. We've had problems n the past with them being covered in ice but fortunately now that that's over it is very likely neither service will get interrupted.
